10 Questions for Leslie Forgenie 1) Why did you first decide to take an internship with SEER Interactive? As a Communications Major at Temple, I became familiar with different forms of media, but the internet was by far my favorite. When I read the description for the internship, I felt is was a perfect match. 2) What was one of the most valuable things you learned during your internship? Learning never stops! To be successful at SEO, you can never become comfortable with a particular strategy because the industry is always changing. You have to take risks and you have to be willing to experiment. 3) How is being employed with SEER full time now different than your internship? I see so much more of what goes into a campaign now that I’m here full-time. It’s exciting to see everyone’s talents and contributions synergize. 4) What are your main responsibilities at SEER? My responsibilities include link-building, content auditing and many other SEO strategies. One of the reasons I take pleasure in working at SEER is that we all wear many hats and become involved in more than one aspect of any campaign. 5) What do you do when you are not at work? I treasure moments with family and friends; laughing and bonding. Now that undergrad is over and I don’t have to stay up all night studying, I’d like to revisit some old hobbies like fashion design and sewing. 6) Tell us more about your volunteer work. I enjoy visiting the elderly and hearing stories of how life was when they were my age and during the school year, I tutor at a local after-school program. 7) What was your first job? Hogwarts, muggles and Voldermort quickly became a part of my vocabulary my first day at the Warner Bros. Store. The second Harry Potter book had just been released and I came to work everyday adorned in my Hogwarts shirt, ready to sell wands and wizard hats. I also learned the official names of all three Powderpuff Girls—Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup (in case you were wondering). 8) What would you be doing if you were not at SEER? I’m not sure, maybe studying peace and conflict resolutions in a foreign country. 9a) What is your favorite place you have ever been to? I loved the scenery and vibrancy of Miami when I visited a few years ago. 9b) Where would you like to go? I would love to travel a few places in Africa, including Ghana, Egypt and South Africa. 10a) If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I wish I could better explain the SEO industry to my family and friends who ask, “So, what do you do?” 10b) If you could change one thing about the SEO industry what would it be? I’d probably remove the unethical players in the industry that give SEO a bad name.
