Why Search?

As an industry search did not exist in 1994. Ten years later in 2004, according to SEMPO, a nonprofit research group, search engine marketing was a 4.09 Billion dollar industry. They predicted that by 2005 it would grow to 5.69 Billion. Once they had conducted their study, the end result for 2005 was 5.75 billion dollars and their projection was low by 5%. Their projection for 2006 is at approximately 7.19 Billion dollars, and they have also predicted that by 2010 the industry will bring in about 11.10 Billion. Search is a market that, while it is still growing, remains relatively untouched by more traditional marketing firms, but with statistics proving its value, these firms are starting to take notice. Needless to say, if you pass on search you are passing on an already substantial market that is still expanding at an exponential rate, but the real question is whether or not your competitors are passing on it too.
